Effectively treating the signs of aging often requires invasive surgical procedures and downtime. Now, thanks to research in PRP therapy, patients desiring a more youthful appearance can enjoy a safe, non-invasive facial treatment that takes years off the appearance with no downtime. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy combined with hyaluronic acid dermal filler can dramatically improve the appearance of aging skin and restore a more natural, youthful glow. Frequently asked questions about a PRP facelift

How is a PRP facelift performed?

The procedure begins with taking a blood sample from your arm. This blood sample will then be filtered through a PRP centrifuge to separate the platelets from the blood. The platelets make clots, heal wounds and bruises, stimulate stem cell activity, and grow new tissue. After the skin is cleansed with alcohol, the hyaluronic acid filler is injected into the skin to provide scaffolding and reshape the face. Then, the activated PRP is injected to stimulate stem cell activity. A PRP facelift is non-invasive, using tiny injections similar to a Botox treatment.

How long does the procedure take?

The procedure only takes 45 to 60 minutes.

What are the results?

A refreshed, natural-looking glow that takes years off your appearance. A PRP facelift reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and crepe skin, and minimizes the appearance of sagging skin around the eyes or face.

When will I see results?

Partial results are seen immediately. More results begin to appear a week or two after treatment. Improvements continue to increase three months following treatment.

How many treatments are recommended?

Results appear with each treatment. One treatment can be all that is desired to refresh the skin and stave off aging. Many patients undergo a series of three treatments for maximum results. Maintenance treatments are often recommended yearly to maintain results.

Is there any downtime after a PRP facelift?

No. The advantage of a PRP facelift is that no downtime is required, meaning you don’t need to take time off from work or other obligations. Makeup and regular skincare products can be used the day following treatment.

Are there any side effects?

A light amount of swelling and redness following treatment is to be expected. This usually lasts only hours and is not disruptive to daily activities. Patients on aspirin, ibuprofen, blood thinners, vitamin E and some medications may experience light bruising at the injection sites. It is recommended to avoid use of those that are non-essential for one week prior to treatment when possible. Either way, the tiny bruising, if any, will clear without issue and can be minimized with makeup the day after treatment. Rarely, irritation at the injection sites may occur.

How long do typical results last?

The benefits of PRP produce growth and visible improvements that last up to six to 12 months, sometimes longer more permanent improvements are gained. The hyaluronic acid dermal filler provides volume and scaffolding that typically lasts around nine to 12 months. Used with PRP, the scaffolding can provide more lasting results in many.

Dr. Luther was very nice and attentive to all I had to say. Following up with an appropriate referral as needed. It is really really nice to have the labs done right there. They do a follow-up telehealth visit to review your labs with you which is really reassuring to the patient. The portal also works very smoothly and is easy to use . Can’t say enough good about my visit.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Luther and Dr. Wright. Both are amazing. I have been a patient of Dr. Luther for years and his bedside manners are like no other. Dr. Wright I have seen for the last couple of months. He listens to your concerns and doesn’t rush you. Your concerns matter to both of them and make you feel at ease after each visit. These two are the best of the best. No one can compare to them.

Working with Stephanie in pelvic floor physical therapy has been an amazing experience as I had bladder prolapse which improved significantly with therapy. Also other symptoms related to urgency and inability to completely void have also gotten much better. Stephanie is a true professional and has been able to make what could have been an uncomfortable or embarrassing experience feel completely relaxed and normal. She is also able to follow my lead in using humor when it is helpful. She encourages me to do my exercises on my own without preaching. I would recommend Stephanie and this PT for anyone dealing with female related issues. We will also be working on increasing opportunities for more comfortable intimacy with my husband. So everyone is happy.
