Direct Care on Hilton Head Island

Affordable primary healthcare without insurance.

Symbios Direct Care is a private healthcare membership program that works outside your insurance, eliminating the expensive costs and erasing the need to file claims. It replaces copays and deductibles with one flat, affordable monthly fee in exchange for specified primary care services such as routine office visits and standard medical testing.

A Healthcare Option for Employers and Self-Pay Individuals

Symbios Direct Care is a viable alternative healthcare option for employers and self-pay individuals at an affordable monthly fee.

Accessibility & Convenience

Symbios Direct Care patients have access to same-day and next-day visits, with the dedicated time to meet their needs and the option for in-person, virtual, or telemedicine visits.

More Time with Your Healthcare Provider

Each patient will receive a thorough, in-depth yearly evaluation and physical exam, allowing the patient and healthcare provider to establish the patient’s personal primary care needs. Subsequent visits throughout the year continue to enhance this direct relationship between patient and provider.

Upfront Pricing Model

A fixed, transparent monthly cost that does not vary based on the services provided throughout the entire year. The monthly fee covers one in-depth health evaluation (including basic labs) and unlimited follow-up and acute care visits throughout the year. Any office visit, procedure, or test that can be provided on-site will be at no additional charge to the patient.

Frequently Asked Questions

Symbios Direct Care is an agreement made directly between Symbios and the patient and/or employer. For a low, transparent monthly fee, patients and/or employers pay Symbios directly to provide a broad spectrum of primary healthcare services. By removing the traditional healthcare insurances, Symbios can reduce overhead and provide high quality patient care at a much more affordable rate.

This includes an annual comprehensive health evaluation complete with age-appropriate labs and testing along with unlimited primary care and sick care visits. SymbiosFIT and Symbios Medical Spa are available at a 10% discount.

No, although both models operate outside of the traditional medical insurance framework, concierge medical practices often come with a significantly increased price tag. Symbios Direct Care offers the same broad spectrum of preventative health services, timely (often same day) appointments for injuries or illnesses, and on-call medical professionals for after-hours medical needs at a low, transparent monthly cost.

Symbios Direct Care allows adults to add their children from ages 13 to 26 to their monthly plan for only $15 per month for each child. Symbios Direct Care currently does not offer well-child checks or preventative vaccinations for children.

Not at all. Although we love to work with employers who are willing to help cover part of the monthly fees, no employer relationship is required. Individuals can enroll as patients and pay the monthly fees in their entirety. If you are an employer who would like to inquire about our services and learn how we may be able to help save you money on your healthcare costs, please contact us directly.

Symbios Direct Care is a great option to couple with a traditional health insurance plan, such as a high deductible health plan and/or a health savings account. Frequently, the copays, coinsurance, and meeting your yearly deductible are more expensive than Symbios Direct Care’s affordable cost. We encourage patients to have some form of health insurance plan that can be used for any medical services not currently provided by Symbios, such as radiology, specialist visits, emergency department visits, and hospitalizations.

No, there are no additional payments for preventative or acute care office visits.

There are no additional fees for any services that Symbios Direct Care or our on-site laboratory can provide. Some specimens, such as skin biopsies, Pap smears, and STI specimens, will be sent to an outside lab. If there are any testing or procedures we cannot provide on-site, Symbios Direct Care will partner with outside labs, specialists, and radiology sites to offer the lowest cost possible for our patients. See below for some examples of labs, medications, and procedures that are included for no additional cost.
