Turn What Appears Impossible Into I’m Possible

Encouragement from Dr. Stephen Luther

How are you doing today?

Answering this common question truthfully is uncommon, but I encourage you to evaluate your lifestyle. Would your wellness improve with changes in your sleep and eating habits, exercise routine, self-care, or relationships?

Today’s answers and actions will influence your subsequent thought-provoking response: How will you look and feel in five years? Will those few pounds you gain each year lead to metabolic-related diseases? Will you become forgetful because you replaced reading with TV and decreased your brain stimulation?

Most patients agree with my health recommendations for better nutrition and exercise, yet real change is hard because real life has real excuses. In John 5:2-9, we learn of a lame man lying on his mat for 38 years. The Great Physician asked him, “Do you want to be healed?” The sick man gave him a valid excuse, “Sir, I have no one to put me in the pool.”

Like many of us, he hopes for change but doesn’t believe it will ever happen, so he remains stuck on the mat with good intentions. When his head and heart unite, he understands change is possible and is healed.

This teaching reminds me of times when patients say they want to change, but many reasons, such as time and stress, land them back on the routine mat. First, you must elevate your thinking and believe that you can change; turn what appears impossible into I’m possible by making up your mind to commit to a healthier lifestyle by planning for your best possible tomorrow!

Ben Franklin’s advice, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail,” reveals the importance of wellness goals. Plan seven goals with Kickstart70, and together, we can improve your mental capacity, quality of sleep, physical fitness, personal beautification, spiritual growth, relationships, and nutrition. For example, packing a nutritious lunch rather than eating fast food is one way to treat the root cause of irregular digestion rather than masking concerns with medicine.

To experience change, you must change what you experience! I encourage you to make wellness goals, master new habits with support and repetition, and reap the benefits by maintaining your healthy lifestyle. Register for Kickstart70 by February1, by clicking this link.
